Rhetoric, Sustainability, and Student Engagement on Campus

This fall, students in Dr. Nicole Hurt’s Rhetoric, Sustainability, and Transformation course (COMM 3310) worked throughout the semester on a sustainability intervention project. Students were tasked to rhetorically intervene in a sustainability problem in our local community.


Georgia Debate Union captures 4th win at US Naval Academy

The Georgia Debate Union emerged victorious at the Crowe-Warken Debate Tournament at the United States Naval Academy, recently held over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend in Annapolis, Maryland.  


Review of applications to graduate program to begin January 3

The Graduate Admissions Committee will begin reviewing applications on January 3. Offers of admission and assistantships will be made by January 11th, however applications will be accepted throughout the spring semester until we meet our admissions goal.


Winner Crowned at the Bi-Annual Public Speaking Contest

Recently, the communications department hosted its annual public speaking contest to much delight and fanfare. Over 100 students joined us to celebrate the eloquence, intellect, and acumen of some of the undergraduate population’s best public speakers. Dr.
