Image: Dr. Biesecker was recently selected as a panelist honoring the internationally heralded theorist Gayatri Spivak. Dr.Biesecker traveled to Columbia University where she presented at the prestigious event: Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak: A Symposium Celebrating her 80th Birthday, Living in Translation, and the 25th anniversary of Death of a Discipline. Dr. Biesecker was strongly influenced by the intellectual creativity and boldness of this important mentor and was delighted to have the opportunity to honor her.
