The National Communication Association has announced its 2021 Award Winners. Two of our doctoral alums were among the winners. Raka Shome was named as a Distinguished Scholar, and Lisa Flores swept up four awards! Flores won The Diamond Anniversary Book Award for her recent book, Deportable and Disposable: Public Rhetoric and the Making of the “Illegal” Immigrant (Penn State University Press, Fall 2020). She also won the Charles H. Woolbert Research Award, the James A. Winans-Herbert A. Wichelns Memorial Award for Distinguished Scholarship in Rhetoric and Public Address, and the IDEA Scholarship Award. We are so pleased to see the success of our former students!
