Image: The University of Georgia Debate Union recently placed 2nd in the Crowe-Warken intercollegiate debate tournament, held annually at the United States Naval Academy. The Crowe-Warken debates featured 100 individual debate teams from across the East Coast and Midwest, including teams from Boston College, Northwestern University, Georgetown University, Vanderbilt University, the University of Florida, the University of Minnesota, and both the US Military Academy and the US Naval Academy. The tournament typically takes place over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend in Annapolis. The team of Amy Feinberg (senior, Canton, GA) and Tucker Boyce (sophomore, Alpharetta, GA) earned the top seed after preliminary rounds at the tournament. They defeated teams from Dartmouth College, Wake Forest University, and the University of Pittsburgh on their way to their second place finish. They lost in the finals to the University of Kentucky. Miss Feinberg was recognized as the tournament's 5th best speaker, while Mr. Boyce was recognized as 10th. This is their second impressive result in 2014-15; Feinberg and Boyce won the Liberty University intercollegiate debate tournament in early November. Their next intercollegiate debate competition will take place at the University of Texas at Austin in early February, which will be the largest competition in the 2014-2015 season.
