Image: Dr. Sachiko Terui has been accepted to the Owens Institute for Behavioral Research Grant Development Program for 2022-2024. This program is designed to help any UGA faculty member to learn about applying for and receiving extramural funding as a Primary Investigator and involves the development and submission of a grant application by the end of the 2nd year. Dr. Terui's research interests focus on the health interests of marginalized and underserved populations and improving communication among all stakeholders by expanding the understandings of health literacy. Her proposed project will use health disparities among immigrant populations and HIV as contexts to develop a digital health literacy tool, with the goal of facilitating communication between frontline healthcare providers and patients for more effective collaboration among all the stakeholders in patient health.
