Image: Dr. Analisa Arroyo has been named as a Study in a Second Discipline Fellow for the 2022-2023 academic year! Sponsored by the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, this fellowship promotes interdisciplinary research and teaching among UGA academic units by providing tenured faculty an opportunity to extend the range of their knowledge through the study of a discipline outside their own. Dr. Arroyo will be taking a research-intensive track within the UGA School of Social Work, which is a nationally and internationally recognized program known for focusing on community-based social justice and emphasizing evidence-based practices. This fellowship will afford Dr. Arroyo the opportunity to work with top scholars in the field of Social Work and learn complementary theories, methods, and practices that promote social change and wellbeing among individuals and their families. Dr. Arroyo's current research in eating disorder and body image issues will be advanced by the development of an interdisciplinary and social justice-minded prevention program for mothers and daughters.
