This semester, as part of UGA's Institute for Women's Studies "Friday Speaker Series," two professors from the Communication Department will be giving talks. These talks are free and open to the public. They are also First-Year Odyssey Approved Events. On Friday, February 10th, in room 213 of the Miller Learning Center, from 12:20-1:10pm: Dr. Nicole Hurt will give a talk titled "The Curious Case of Mammography: Breast Cancer, Science, and the Rhetoric of Risk." On Friday, March 17th, in room 214 of the Miller Learning Center, from 12:20-1:10pm: Dr. Jaclyn Nolan will give a talk titled "Whose Willie McGee? Civil Rights, Far-Left Activism, and Visions of Womanhood."
