Sophia Flemming, Ph.D. Candidate, has been recognized for a series of notable achievements during the 2025–2026 academic year. She was selected as the graduate student recipient of the Giles Encouragement Award, recognizing her outstanding promise and scholarly contributions. In addition, Sophia received a Mellon Grant supporting her work in Spring and Summer 2026.

Sophia was also invited to participate in the New Georgia Encyclopedia (NGE) xPD Graduate School Summer Internship, an opportunity she has accepted. These accomplishments reflect her strong academic engagement, research excellence, and professional development within the field. We congratulate Sophia on her continued success.
